Kishwauketoe

Kishwauketoe (or “Kish” for short) is for the campers entering 2nd through 4th grade that are looking for an overnight experience at Covenant Harbor. Kish offers partial week (2 or 3 nights) and full week (5 nights) camp experiences for your camper.

Kish is a great way to introduce the overnight camp experience.

Because of its unique location, intentionally smaller group size and age appropriate programming, Kish is a great way to introduce your 2nd through 4th grader to overnight camp. We purposefully limit the number of campers at Kish to help them feel comfortable in the Kishwauketoe Village and to feel like a part of the community during their time at camp.

Kish is fun.

The programs are packed with activities like the waterfront, tree swing, adventure activities, arts and crafts, carpetball, campfires (and smores!) and so much more! Kish kids spend the week getting to know their cabin mates and counselor, and making decisions about what activities they choose to do each day. They also grow in independence and decision-making at the canteen all while singing songs and playing silly games.

Kish is unique for them.

Our trained staff works hard each year to create opportunities for campers of this age to partake in experiences for the first time that they may not have the chance to participate in anywhere else. Each activity, session and interaction helps kids learn more about themselves, others and Jesus. Our schedule and Bible programs are designed to be age-appropriate and engaging so kids learn while having fun.

Kishwauketoe Schedule

Kishwauketoe full-week programs begin on Sunday afternoons and conclude in the late afternoon on Fridays. Partial weeks are available on a few different time frames to meet a variety of schedules. Please see the complete schedule at the top of the page for more details. Our programs are unique for each age group of campers as well. Age Groups

Age Groups:

Note that the grade for our camp programs is based on the upcoming (2024-2025) school year. Therefore, during the summer, Kish (grades 2-4) camps will be filled with campers who have finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. Kish campers must be at least 6 years old by their week of camp to register.

Finding the right camp fit for your camper is important, especially for those campers in between programs. Campers entering 4th grade have the option of a Kishwauketoe week of camp or our Pier 30 camp.

To help, start by asking yourself a few questions about your camper.

  • Does your camper prefer to play with younger children?
  • Does your camper enjoy being a part of a smaller setting?
  • Does your camper prefer a more structured, routine, supportive environment with more boundaries in place?
  • Has your child spent less than two nights away from home without you?

If you answered yes to some of these questions, Kish might be the right fit!

You know your camper best, so we encourage you to trust what you feel would be most beneficial for your camper. If you have any questions or concerns about which program is best for your camper, please give us a call at 262-248-3600.

Arrival and Departure Information

Arrival and Departure Information

For reasons of safety and security, specific information regarding arrival and departure is sent directly via email to registered campers only. Please call our office with any questions. Our staff does not assume responsibility for campers until the conclusion of check-in.

Upon arrival to check-in, our staff will greet you at your car and will guide you through our check-in process.

Late arrival or early pick-up is not recommended and should be considered only in extreme circumstances. If you must arrive late for any reason please call our office in advance so we may prepare for your arrival. Early pick-up can be arranged at check-in. If you are looking to pick up your camper early on the last day of camp, this must happen before 12pm.

Directions

A variety of routes make Covenant Harbor accessible from any surrounding area. Our address is 1724 W Main St., Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. See our Map and Directions page for detailed arrival instructions.

Closing Ceremony

You are free to depart with your camper once their counselor has the release card. However, after you have picked up your camper(s), your family has the opportunity to stay at camp for a closing ceremony. We highly recommend and encourage your family to stay for the closing ceremony to celebrate the week! Experience first hand what your campers did and learned during the week. Many of our staff members will be there for you to talk with as well.

Camper and Family Surveys

Before your camper leaves camp or when you return home, we ask them to fill out a survey. Once they are home, we want to hear from you after you and your camper have had a chance to debrief. These surveys are important as they help us learn how to better serve campers and their families.

What to Bring

Packing List:

Campers should have a range of clothes for any weather. Clothing should allow campers to be active. Include closed-toe shoes for activities and water shoes for swimming. A detailed packing list will be sent after you register along with the parent manual.

What NOT to Bring:

Do not bring cell phones or any pets, electronic devices (including CD players, game systems, and iPods), personal sports equipment, firearms, weapons of any kind, fireworks, tobacco, alcohol or drugs.

Spending Money:

Prior to camp (recommended) and at check-in, you will have the opportunity to deposit money in your camper’s spending money account. Prior to camp (recommended) and at check-in, you will have the opportunity to deposit money in your camper’s spending money account. Campers have the opportunity to visit the camp store each day. Depositing spending money allows your camper to make choices without having to keep track of any cash. The store carries candy (.25-1.50), snacks (.25-2.00), drinks (.50-2.00), souvenirs (.25-25.00) and clothing (5.00-45.00). Campers are only allowed to go to the store once each day and are limited per day on the amount spent on candy and snacks. We do not limit water or Gatorade.

Mission Project:

Throughout the week, campers will learn about this project and will have the opportunity to donate a portion of their spending money (between $0-$5.00) to our mission project.
