Employment at Covenant Harbor is unique and offers an experience like no other place on Earth! We offer a number of different staff positions for you to serve God! Each position that we fill, will be challenging, satisfying, and have plenty of opportunities to impact guests’ lives through Jesus Christ. Throughout the year we have openings and to start the employment process, we ask that you fill out our application. We then will contact you if we believe that there is a fit for our organization. After contact, we go through a rigorous background check process, we ask for multiple references and we have an extensive interview process for each individual.

There are positions available as part of the Covenant Harbor team, all with a different concentration and mix of responsibilities. The potential concentrations are in Youth Ministry, Snake Road Adventure Center, Guest Services, Maintenance, Food Service, and Operation Departments.  All positions will have rotations in other departments to meet seasonal needs when necessary.

Featured Department: Food Service – Seeking an Intern to join the Food Service team in preparing/serving quality food and attractive meals to a wide variety of guests. We are a busy camp, serving guests year round in two on-site kitchens year-round. We want to train you to become a shift manager/lead cook. Intern can participate in management functions such as ordering, scheduling, menu planning, training and more. Most important skills: ability to learn and passion for great customer service. Potential for position to grow into permanent full-time position. Previous camp and food service experience preferred. If interested, email resume to Sandy Wendtland, Food Service Coordinator.

Youth Ministry – Looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals passionate about camp ministry programming; will work with our Youth Ministry Team to craft and carry out winter and summer programs, recruit and hire summer staff, and support various areas of youth ministry year-round at camp. We are not currently accepting applicants for a Youth Ministry concentration intern position.

Snake Road Adventure Center (SRAC) – Looking for applicants who are flexible and adaptable with prior challenge course or outdoor education program experience preferred; will work with our SRAC Team with year-round day and overnight groups for experiences with low ropes, high ropes, climbing tower, zip lines, and instructing outdoor education programs at camp.

Guest Services – Looking for outgoing personalities who like to work with people; will work with a wide variety of groups who visit Covenant Harbor and work closely with our Guest Services Team on many aspects of hosting and serving groups at camp.

Maintenance – Looking for applicants willing to learn and adapt to different environments; will receive hands-on experience working with our Maintenance Team in all aspects of facility maintenance to both support other departments and interact with different areas of camp. We are not currently accepting applicants for a Maintenance concentration intern position.

Operation Departments – Looking for individuals willing to work behind the scenes; will have opportunities to assist in a variety of tasks and focuses in Administration, Housekeeping, and other operations areas.

Snake Road Adventure Center Facilitator – Facilitate participants safely through various components of the Snake Road Adventure Center (SRAC) program activities. Program activities include ice breakers, problem-solving activities, initiative activities, and low ropes course elements. Teach/lead outdoor education classes and activities including orienteering, basic survival, canoeing, archery, aquatic conservation, campfires and night hikes. Position is part time with more hours during our peak seasons. Schedule is variable and requires flexibility based on group needs. Experience in ropes courses, working with groups (especially youth) and teaching is helpful. For additional questions, contact Peter Hatlestad, SRAC Director.

Cook – Shift Supervisor in one of two on-site kitchens with part-time hours and competitive pay rates. Responsibilities include overseeing menu production (recipes provided); delegating duties as necessary; supervising associate staff in meal production, buffet setup and management, dining room setup and management. Commercial cooking experience helpful; management experience helpful. For more details, read our Cook Job Description.

Marketing Coordinator – Covenant Harbor is seeking an individual passionate about promoting ministry opportunities and building relationships in the full-time position of Marketing Coordinator.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing a strategic marketing plan for all aspects of camp. This comprehensive plan includes management of brand identity, advertising and marketing efforts across varied media, and proactively pursuing growth opportunities to connect churches, groups, organizations, and individuals with the ministry. Individuals must possess strong organizational and relational skills, have perseverance to accomplish strategic goals, and be gifted in written and verbal communication. The position requires an understanding of Christian camping ministry as well as proven experience and success in marketing, ideally in the nonprofit sector.
