Check-In

Day Camp

Check-in:

Day Camp check-in will take place each day between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. The drive-through check-in process allows Covenant Harbor staff to quickly sign your child into camp without you having to leave your car.

Your camper’s Medical Form and balance were due May 15th. You can review your camper’s registration account here and make payments, complete forms, add spending money or merchandise to your camper’s account prior to arrival (this will save you time at check in and we highly recommend you do this).

At Check-in You’ll Need

  • All medications
  • Any spending money for your camper and payment for t-shirts, team photos, etc. (unless submitted in advance)

Camper Medications and Inhalers

Make sure to bring any medications campers have for the day to drop off with our medical team. All prescriptions and over the counter medications must be turned into the nurses. Campers are not allowed to have any medications with them throughout the week.

We also want to give you a few updates in regards to the health and safety guidelines Covenant Harbor will be following while your camper is here. Some of these may adjust week to week. If you have a camper attending a later week as well, be sure to review these standards again at that point. The following are the guidelines for campers:

  • Sick Campers: Campers presenting one or more of the following symptoms will be separated under the care of the medical staff:
      1. Fever of 100.6 or higher
      2. Persistent cough with a fever of 100.2 or higher
      3. Vomiting

Team Requests

We will only grant up to 2 teammate requests per camper. A group of more than 3 will be split based on first choice teammate requests. We will assign campers in teams according to age and grade levels. We will do our best to honor teammate requests for campers in the appropriate age groups who register more than 5 days before the start of their session. *Please be honest about your child’s age and grade. Please contact us if you have any questions about programming or team requests for your child. If you misrepresent your age and/or grade level, we reserve the right to remove your child from a program.

Check-in:

Check-in takes place at 3:00 pm on the first day of camp. This applies to Sunday check-in’s as well as any Kish partial weeks. Feel free to arrive anytime in that window, we also do our best to open early as well. At check-in, you will receive your camper’s housing assignment, give all medications to the camp nurse (more information below), and be able to drop off any camper mail.

Your camper’s Medical Form and balance were due May 15th. You can review your camper’s registration account here and make payments, complete forms, add spending money or merchandise to your camper’s account prior to arrival (this will save you time at check in and we highly recommend you do this).

The check-in process is inside the Jackson Family Activity Center (JAC). After parking, you will have the opportunity to drop off any medications and talk with a camp nurse, as well as drop off any mail you would like to be delivered to your camper throughout the week. During check-in you will learn about your camper’s cabin, counselor and finalize additional details about their week.

Our goal for check-in is to facilitate a smooth, calm process to get every camper moved into their cabin and meet their camp counselor.

Here’s what check-in will look like for you and your campers.

Arrive at camp: You’ll pull into camp on the main driveway off of Highway 50. Drive straight down to the main parking lot and continue up the Big Hill. There will be staff members and signs along the way to guide you along.

Park: You will park in the Big Field at the top of the hill. Feel free to leave all your camper’s belongings in the car. Once you check-in you’ll return to the car before moving in.

Head to the Jackson Family Activity Center or the JAC: If you have a balance to pay or would like to add any merchandise during check-in, make sure to bring cash or a card.

  • Make sure to bring any mail you want delivered to your camper throughout the week and medications they have. Mail, including letters, envelopes and emails, may be dropped off at check-in to be delivered to your camper throughout the week or can be mailed to Covenant Harbor.
  • New this year, care packages will only be delivered on Tuesday and Thursday each week. Kish partial weeks will deliver packages on Monday for the first half of the week and Thursday for the second half of the week. We encourage sending only one or two care packages to your camper for their time at camp. If you would like to provide your camper with more care packages, we suggest sending them with one on Sunday night.
  • All prescriptions and over the counter medications must be turned into the nurses. Campers are not allowed to have any medications with them in the cabin throughout the week.

Follow the Check-In Line: You’ll get in line to check-in just outside the JAC. Our staff will greet you and get you your camper’s check-in papers. This includes a short medical survey for you to fill out so we know how your camper is feeling today. We will have pens to borrow.

  • We also want to give you a few updates in regards to the health and safety guidelines Covenant Harbor will be following while your camper is here. Some of these may adjust week to week. If you have a camper attending a later week as well, be sure to review these standards again at that point. The following are the guidelines for campers

      • Fever of 100.6 or higher
      • Persistent cough with a fever of 100.2 or higher
      • Vomiting
  •  This check-in form is a great way to confirm your camper’s information including any purchases you made in advance, camper store balance, camper release names, email contacts, and more. Make sure to review that paper before getting up to a check-in table.

Check-In: When it’s your turn, you will be directed to a check-in table. Our staff will give you your camp counselor name and cabin! You’ll confirm your details and head on your way.

Before you leave the gym: Make sure to turn in your mail at the mail table.

  • Write your name on your new summer theme t-shirt if you purchased one.
  • Stop by the parent lounge in the Game Room.

Check-in with the Medical Team: After check-in, head up stairs to check-in with the medical team if needed. This is where you will drop off any prescriptions or over the counter medications and ask any questions you might have. If you do not need to see the medical team, you can skip this step and head back to your car.

Grab Your Stuff: Head back to your car to grab all your camper’s belongings and head to their cabin. There will be staff and signs directing you in the right direction. Your camp counselor will be waiting there to meet you!

Meet Your Counselor: When you arrive at your cabin, say hello to your counselor! They will be so excited to meet you all! Pick out a bed, get familiar with the cabin, and settle in. Feel free to take your time to make sure your camper is confident before you leave.

  • This is a great time to let your counselor know anything about your camper you think might be important or helpful, or ask any questions about the upcoming week.

Say your Goodbyes: Once settled in, say your goodbyes. Please be sure to leave camp by 4:30pm. We will be excited to get the week started! Make sure to hand your counselor the camper card before you leave. This signifies that they are now responsible for the camper.

Head Home: Head back to your car and head home. We’ll be in touch throughout the week through the app.

  • You can email your camper while they are at camp. Emails can be sent to camper@covenantharbor.org with subject: Counselor Name, Camper Name. Remember, campers can not respond via email.
