Cabin and Team Mate Requests for Summer Camp

We know that coming to camp with a friend can make the experience more comfortable, especially for the younger or first time campers, and be a launching point for deepened friendships! That is why we strive to make the cabin and/or team mate request process as thoughtful and useful as possible.

Cabin (overnight camps) and/or team (day camps) assignments are made one week before camp and are not released until check-in time. This enables us to grant most requests for cabin and/or team mates. It’s important to us that each cabin and/or team group has a positive and accepting atmosphere. It’s also important to us that campers become acquainted with other campers outside their current circle of friends and that individual campers feel comfortable and accepted even though they may not have come with someone they know.

To protect this type of accepting and friendly cabin and/or team atmosphere, your camper may list up to two other friends who they would like to be grouped together with in a cabin or team. In order to communicate those requests, please list the first and last names of those one to two people on your camper’s online registration. These requests are used as a guideline for our team as we put together the best groups possible for every camper. If your camper is part of a large group of friends – including a group of four – we welcome your input regarding how a large group should be split into smaller groups.

Cabin and/or team mate requests must be mutual. Requests are made through the registration process online. If you need to update your request, or if you have any questions, email us or call the office at 262-248-3600. Thank you in advance for your participation in this process. It helps our team group campers together as best as possible. Please note that no guarantees can be made and we appreciate your patience and understanding in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Siblings

Siblings often love to come to camp together. Sometimes siblings can be a helpful tool to a successful week away from home for one another. Other times, a week at camp can be a chance to try new things and make new friends away from that sibling. Families know best what works for their children!

Siblings are not guaranteed to be placed together. If you would like your siblings to be together, you must place them in one another’s cabin and/or team mate request section during the online registration. As always, requests must be mutual. If you do not, siblings may be separated into separate groups.

Grades and Ages of Campers in the Same Cabin and Team

Covenant Harbor’s Summer Camp programs are specifically designed for an age group. With that in mind, we strive to put like-aged campers together in the same cabin or on the same team. This may be a cabin group of all 6th graders or a team of 4th and 5th graders together. If you have cabin and/or team mate requests that are in varying different grades and ages, we recommend talking to our office about what is possible for them during Summer Camp.

Larger Groups of Friends

We appreciate your understanding in our process of separating larger groups of friends. However, this does not mean they will not see each other throughout the week if placed in separate groups. Much of the day’s schedule and activities overlap between campers outside of just their cabin or team. Some groups will have the opportunity to go to the waterfront together or spend free time with one another.

Each program, whether that is Day Camp, Kish, Pier 30 or Alpha, have multiple activities throughout the day where the entire program is together. These are things like morning and evening sessions, meals, and big games.
