Kish One Night (Grades 1-3)

Summer 2018 dates and registration coming this fall!

Kishwauketoe (or “Kish” for short) is for the campers in grades 1st through 3rd grade that are looking for an overnight experience at Covenant Harbor.

The Kish One Night (Grades 1-3) is perfect for those campers who are interested in trying out an overnight experience for the first time. Campers will see what it’s like to stay in a cabin, eat meals in the Lodge dining hall, and bond with their fellow Kish campers and counselors.

During the Kish One Night, campers will have the chance to sample overnight camp by trying out the banana boat or an adventure activity, wear their PJ’s to the evening session, sing new songs, learn about God, choose treats at the camp store, and more.

The Kish One Night is crafted intentionally to be a uniquely shortened overnight camp. This option does not allow campers to try every activity, but for the one night they get a great sample of the overnight camp experience!

Age Groups

Because the majority of campers register in the winter, the grade for our camp programs is based on the current (fall 2016 – spring 2017) school year. Therefore, the Kish One Night (Grades 1-3) summer camp will be filled with campers who have finished 1st-3rd grade.

Check-in

Check-in will be from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the first day of camp. Upon arrival, our staff will greet your family and guide you through the check-in and move-in process. Kish One Night (Grades 1-3) will officially start with a parent welcome and kickoff at 4:15pm. Our staff does not assume responsibility for campers until the conclusion of the kickoff.

Check-out

Camp officially ends with a closing ceremony. Kish One Night closing ceremony is on Monday at 5:15 pm. Parents should arrive between 4:45 PM to 5:00 PM to check-out, 15-30 minutes before the closing ceremony. Check-out will not open before 4:45 PM. Early check-out is highly discouraged and should be considered only in extreme circumstances. In order to ensure our staff have adequate time to prepare for the next group of campers, timely departure is essential.

Late drop-off/early pick-up

Late arrival or early pick up is not recommended and should be considered only in extreme circumstances. If you must arrive late for any reason please call our office in advance so we may prepare for your arrival. Early pick up can be arranged at check-in. We will not allow a camper to be picked up and dropped off more than once during the camp week because of the negative experience that it has on your camper and other campers.

The Kish One Night is filled with a mix great activities, relationship building and Bible teaching.

Schedule Overview

Due to the changing nature of our programs, each week offers a different mix of activities. Because the Kish One Night is a uniquely crafted short experience, we will include a great balance of activities tailored just for campers in Grades 1-3 while also sampling the best of the Kishwauketoe experience.

The Kish One Night will include large group sessions full of songs, silliness, and age-appropriate Bible teaching. During activity blocks, we will have unique activity opportunities for each cabin group, and other fun adventures in Kishwauketoe like the Tree Swing and Carpetball. Campers will eat meals in their cabin groups, and spend quiet time and discussion time together.

Activities

Kish One Night (Grades 1-3) campers experience as many of Covenant Harbor’s great activities as possible, while also enjoying a few special Kishwauketoe activities too. More information and photos of all our activities can be found on our Activities page.

Facility

The Kishwauketoe facility is private and intimate with four cabins, a covered wagon, and a tree house. There is a separate bathroom facility for girls and boys respectively. An air conditioned meeting space, nature center and playground are also a part of the Kish facility. More information and photos of the Kish facility can be found in the Lodging section.
