Moms & Daughters Retreat

May 1–3, 2015
See Below for Prices

Our Moms & Daughters Retreat provides each guest an experience of relaxation and helps mom develop deep relationships with their daughters.

Sometimes our busy lives prevent us from developing the relationships that really matter.  Take a weekend off and enjoy fun activities, quality bonding time and meet new friends.  Don’t let the name fool you; aunts, nieces, grandmas and granddaughters are all welcome.

We’re getting excited about a new line up of workshops for Moms and Daughters 2015! Sign ups for workshops will start one month before the retreat date. We’ll send you an email with workshop descriptions and sign up details in early spring

While camp is an important time to get away from many routines of life, we understand that connection with the outside world is still important. Several common spaces around camp offer wireless internet access, and most cell phone providers offer excellent signal strength.

Lisa Orris

Lisa Orris received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Gannon University in Erie, Pa in 1986. She was a drug and alcohol counselor as well as a counselor in correctional facilities until God decided He had other plans for her life…motherhood! She is mother to Billy (26), Lauren (23), a graduate of Azusa Pacific University, and Michael (20), a junior at Northern Illinois University. Her husband, Bill Orris, is also a Covenant pastor.

While Lisa would consider motherhood an important calling, after a period of time she could no longer deny the gifts the Lord was unearthing within her. It became apparent her desire to know and communicate God’s Word more effectively needed to be nurtured further. By God’s grace, Lisa was awarded the Presidential Scholarship at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago.

Upon graduating from North Park with a Masters of Divinity in May 2006, Lisa accepted a call to the Department of Church Growth and Evangelism for the Evangelical Covenant Church.  She was with the department in various capacities from 2005 to 2010 and ended her ministry there as the Director of Evangelism. Lisa and Bill have always dreamed of leading a church together. In March of 2012 they accepted a call as co-pastors at Hope Covenant Church in Crystal Lake, IL.

For fun she loves to listen to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, eat good food, and browse for hours in card shops to find the perfect card!

Lauren Orris

Lauren grew up in the Chicago-land area in Palatine but is now living in Crystal Lake. She attended Azusa Pacific University in Southern California where she graduated with a B.A in youth ministry. Lauren lived in Bellingham, Washington last year working as the youth intern at Bellingham Covenant Church. She treasures her years on the west coast but will always be a mid-west girl.

Her many summers working at Covenant Point Bible Camp shaped her desire to be in youth ministry. Lauren has passion for working with middle and high school students because she believes they are some of the most hilarious and thoughtful people you will meet.

Lauren loves laughter, coffee and dark chocolate. She enjoys being active whether it’s playing a game outside or going for a long hike. Lauren is a die-hard Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan (you can blame her parents) and is a lover of all things sports. But most importantly, her time spent with people sharing life and God together is her favorite thing to do.

Lauren is currently serving as the Youth Director at Hillcrest Covenant Church in Dekalb, IL.

Kayla, Susannah and Krista are all soon to be alumni or currant alumni of North Park University in Chicago.  The trio has spent time as members of the University’s worship team. All three are daughters themselves and are therefor excited to be leading at this retreat.  They can’t wait to meet you, hear lovely your voices, and worship the Lord with you!
